About the event
This Adoptee Art Therapy Group will be led by Artist, Adoptee, Art Therapist, and Associate Marriage and Family Therapist Nicole Rademacher is for Adult Adoptees.
Through art therapy, participants will explore weekly themes based on the 7 core issues of adoption (developed by Sharon Kaplan Roszia and Allison Davis Maxon) as it pertains to adoptees. Participants will collectively decide which issue, which we prefer to refer to as vulnerabilities, to work on for the session. The 6th week will be a cumulative session to say good-bye and close. Participants will build resilience, facilitate positive change, and enhance ability to cope with vulnerabilities through exploring the adoptee experience using art.
Materials needed: art-making supplies including but not limited to collage materials, colored pencils, makers, different sized paper, oil pastels, charcoal, acrylic pain, watercolor...
