About the event
Artist, Adoptee, and Art Therapist will lead this Adoptee Art Therapy Group, and Associate Marriage and Family Therapist Nicole Rademacher for Adult Adoptees.
Through art therapy, participants will explore weekly themes based on the 7 core issues of adoption (developed by Sharon Kaplan Roszia and Allison Davis Maxon) as it pertains to adoptees. Participants will collectively decide which topic to work on for the session. The 6th week will be a cumulative session to say goodbye and close. Participants will build resilience, facilitate positive change, and enhance their ability to cope with vulnerabilities through exploring the adoptee experience using art.
Materials needed: art-making supplies including but not limited to collage materials, colored pencils, makers, different-sized paper, oil pastels, charcoal, acrylic paint, watercolor...
