Bryan Post is one of America’s foremost child behavior experts and founder of the Post Institute for Family-Centered Therapy. The Post Institute works with adults, children, and families struggling with early life trauma and the impact on the development of the mind/body system. A renowned clinician, lecturer, and author, Bryan has traveled throughout the world providing expert treatment and consultation. An internationally recognized specialist in the treatment of emotional and behavioral disturbance, he specializes in a holistic family-based treatment approach that addresses the underlying interactive dynamics of the entire family. Bryan has been researching child behavior and finding solutions for a small niche of kids “with whom nothing works”. He has worked in the trenches for the last 15 years with children in the last resort category, as well as training parents and professionals in a new paradigm of parenting which he calls The Stress Model. This new model is in direct opposition to traditional parenting and societal behavior modification programming, which he considers as beyond consequences, logic, and control. A maverick in the mental health field, Bryan broke from traditional teachings in the late 1990s and developed a theoretical model of behavior in which he coined the Stress Model. When fully understood and applied, this can reveal underlying unconscious expressive states which can transform relationship dynamics. From the Stress Model theory, he has gone on to develop both Family-Centered Regulatory Parenting and Regulatory Therapy which both have been taught at the university level. These rapid results programs have been changing the lives of struggling adults, parents, and families for over fifteen years.
Jeanette Yoffe M.F.T. earned her Masters in Clinical Psychology, specializing in children, from Antioch University in June of 2002. She treats children with serious psychological problems secondary to histories of abuse, neglect, and /or multiple placements. She has specialized for the past 18 years in the treatment of children who manifest serious deficits in their emotional, cognitive, and behavioral development. She is the Founder of Celia Center Inc, a non-profit organization in Los Angeles supporting all members of the foster care and adoption constellation. Jeanette’s desire to become a child therapist with a special focus on adopted and foster care issues derived from her own experience of being adopted and moving through the foster care system. Her personal experience has informed her education and provided insight into the unique stresses involved with these issues.
In 2019 she published a one-woman show she performed in 2000 titled "What's Your Name, Who's Your Daddy?" It is available on Amazon and is recorded on Audible. This is a great resource for families, support groups, and agencies to listen and understand the chid's point of view about growing up in foster care and adoption. During her five years as a professional social worker and therapist, Jeanette developed a series of groundbreaking interventions for working with foster and adopted children and currently presents creative workshops for parents as well as therapists and social workers in Los Angeles, at the 2005 Child Welfare League Conference and 2012 DCFS Conference. She has published a book, GROUNDBREAKING INTERVENTIONS: WORKING WITH TRAUMATIZED CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION. This book contains structured treatment activities, the goals of treatment, materials needed, and the “how to approach” for each methodology. A must-have intervention book for all professionals and parents working with children in foster care and adoption!
